Huski Racing complete first pre-season tests

...and announce unveiling of new boat

  • Huski complete first 2022 pre-season tests
  • Huski to launch new boat at Miami International Boat Show

Through the course of the test sessions, we completed a shake-down of new drive shafts on the boat after experiencing a failure in Key West in November. We wanted to ensure everything was in good shape after last season and going into this season.

Huski Racing completed two days of testing in preparation for the 2022 offshore racing season. The test sessions, which took place on Jan. 18 and Jan. 19 in Jensen Beach, FL on the Indian River, were the team’s first tests since winning the APBA World Championship in Key West two months ago. The first day of the test program included initial setup work, with the second day of testing seeing high speed test runs with a focus on new drive shafts.

The team will unveil a new race boat, featuring a new livery at the Miami International Boat Show, February 16-20. The new 47ft Victory hull will be the team’s latest Class 1 entry, set to run alongside the 50ft Huski-Alegra Motorsports hull, which won the 2021 APBA World Championship. Huski Racing representatives will be present at the show to engage with attendees and sample the original Huski Chocolate milk and Huski Chocolate Protein drinks.

We are excited to unveil our new Huski Class 1 boat at the Miami International Boat Show. This is a great sign of what’s to come for Class 1 as enthusiasm and interest grow< across the sport, especially with multiple international teams looking to join. We are anticipating a strong fleet of Class 1 boats at the first race in Cocoa Beach, and we’re looking forward to releasing our full race calendar very soon.

About Class 1

<7r>Class 1 is the premier class of offshore powerboat racing in the world and is considered to be one of the most spectacular marine motorsports. A Class 1 race boat has twin inboard 1100hp engines and can reach speeds in excess of 160mph. All boats are limited by a minimum weight of 4,950kg. In October 2020, the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) assigned the international rights to stage Class 1 offshore powerboat racing to Powerboat P1. The agreement is for ten years and includes organizational and promotion rights to the UIM Class 1 World Championship. P1’s relationship with the UIM spans almost two decades and its aim is to take Class 1 back to where it belongs at the pinnacle of offshore racing. The agreement gives P1 the opportunity to grow the Class 1 championship in the United States and at the same time develop plans to globalize the series over the coming years.
